Not sure what length lines to use...? Most kites used for kitesurfing (or landboarding) come with lines around 25-30 metres long. Longer lines allow the kite more time in the wind window and hence extract more power. Good for high jumps and light winds. However, long lines will make the kite feel slower. If you really want to throw your kite around, maybe you're wave riding or kite looping, then shorter lines around 20-23m are ideal. Short lines are also ideal for high wind conditions. The useable wind window is reduced so power is reduced without having to down size your kite. |
